Onion manufacturing in Rabi season, 2023 is estimated to be 2.27 crore tonnes. Onion was offered from buffer inventory
The federal government has allowed export of 64,400 tonnes of onion to UAE and Bangladesh via Nationwide Cooperative Export Restricted (NCEL). Earlier, the Heart had determined to extend the sale of buffer onion inventory at a concessional price of Rs 25 per kg within the retail markets in October 2023 to supply reduction to customers.
